Fluopyram is a succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicide developed by Bayer, as well as a nematicide with a brand-new mode of action, with its strong nematocidal activity, being applied to cash crops such as tomato, cucumber and banana for control of various nematodes including root-knot nematodes, root rot nematodes and rot stem nematodes.
Fluopyram is the first nematicide to function by inhibiting the nematode respiratory chain complex II. Unlike most other nematicides that only stay on soil surface or leach out rhizosphere along with water, fluopyram is distributed in soil slowly and evenly around root system, thereby more effectively protecting the root system from nematode infestation. Its superior protection property and long shelf life make it a product highly and widely recognized by users.
