What is the reason why the soil has turned green and red?

Hello, come to consult our products !

In general, there are three reasons why soil turns red and green:

640

Firstly, the soil has become acidified.

Soil acidification refers to a decrease in soil pH value. After more than a decade of planting in some northern regions, the pH value of the soil has even dropped to below 3.0. However, the pH range suitable for most of our crops is between 5.5 and 7.5. It can be imagined that in such an acidic environment, how can crops grow well?

The reason for soil acidification is the application of a large amount of physiological acidic fertilizers, such as potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, ammonium chloride, ammonium sulfate, etc. In addition, the temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse are high, and it is rarely leached by rainwater. With the increase of cultivation years, the accumulation of acid ions in the topsoil becomes more and more serious, leading to soil acidification.

Secondly, the soil has become saline.

Long term excessive use of chemical fertilizers makes it difficult for soil crops to fully absorb and ultimately remain in the soil. In fact, fertilizers are inorganic salts, which cause an increase in the salt content of greenhouse soil. After water evaporates, the salt remains on the surface of the soil and gradually turns red after oxidation. Salinized soil generally has a higher pH value, which can range from 8 to 10.

Thirdly, the soil has become eutrophic.

The reason for this phenomenon is improper field management, which causes the soil to harden and become impermeable, and the salt ions caused by excessive evaporation collect on the soil surface. Because the salt is enriched on the soil surface, it is suitable for some algae to survive. If the soil surface becomes dry, the algae die, and the algae residue shows red.

So how to solve the phenomenon of soil surface turning red?

Firstly, it is necessary to apply fertilizer reasonably.

Reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and combine them with the application of organic and biological fertilizers. Promote fertilizer utilization efficiency and regulate soil acidity and alkalinity. Improve soil physical structure.

Secondly, the irrigation method should be reasonable

Change from flood irrigation to drip irrigation, saving water and fertilizer while reducing soil damage.
